We are pleased to share a milestone shipment update for one of our Oromia-based clients. A full 20-foot container of 200 LONGi HiMo 6 (545W) solar panels has successfully cleared Djibouti port customs and is in transit to Addis Ababa via road freight.
Shipment Timeline
Production was completed at LONGi's Xi'an facility on August 20. Panels were transported to Nansha Port (Guangzhou) by August 28, loaded onto MSC vessel on September 1, and arrived at Djibouti Port on September 22. After a 6-day customs clearance process — within normal range — the cargo was released on September 28 and is currently en route via Ethio-Djibouti road corridor.
Why LONGi HiMo 6?
For this particular project — a 100kW off-grid solar system for an agro-processing facility — the HiMo 6 series was selected for its high efficiency (21.3%) and bifacial design, which increases effective output in Ethiopia's high-altitude, high-irradiance conditions. At this system size, LONGi factory pricing was approximately 12% below Tier-2 brand alternatives with equivalent specs.
Documentation Package
The full documentation set — including LONGi's ISO 9001 certificate, IEC 61215 compliance certificate, packing list, commercial invoice, and Certificate of Origin — was prepared in advance of shipment. This clean documentation set reduced customs processing time compared to previous shipments where last-minute document collection caused delays.
